Christ Has Come

Christ Has Come

Isaiah said the Christ to come would be Immanuel,

God with us, and Gabriel would soon to Joseph tell

That Jesus would we call Him; he told Mary as well

From Bethlehem, His place of birth, Micah indicated

The ruler of Israel, the King anticipated

Was sought by wise men and by Herod hated

The Magi saw the wondrous star to follow from the East

They travelled far across terrain, their journey not the least

Bringing gold and frankincense and myrrh  –  their gifts released

A righteous branch said Jeremiah, in wisdom will He reign

From the tribe of Judah, of blood from David’s vein

Though men will cry: Crucify!  He’ll die and rise again

As horn of our salvation and known as Nazarene

Miracles he did perform, the likes of which unseen

He walked the waves of Galilee and made the lepers clean

The angels to the shepherds gave a glorious demonstration

Announcing Christ God’s Son had come to save from every nation

That all who would believe in Him from Him receive salvation

THE FIFTH CRADLE

November 24th, 2011 by

THE FIFTH CRADLE

THE FIRST CRADLE  –  On the way to revealing the mystery of the fifth cradle, we know that God the Father first determined that a young virgin named Mary would become involved.  The seed of the Father’s Son would be sown within Mary’s womb.  An immaculate conception  would occur, develop and grow and be therein incubated for nine months  –  thus, the first cradle.

THE SECOND CRADLE  –  Upon Christ’s birth, before any other cradle would occupy its preordained position  –  now listen closely  –  Mary’s arms would comfort the newborn in her arms, so came the second cradle.  This one would endure for a considerable time subsequent to Jesus’ birth.

THE THIRD CRADLE  –  Almost simultaneously in terms of its time of coming into use, the actual crib designated as a bed for Jesus became the third cradle.  In a natural progression of events, Jesus left His first cradle, the womb, then was placed in Mary’s arms, the second cradle, and, thereinafter, moved From Mary’s loving arms into this home-crafted structure.  While there, Jesus would dream dreams while sleeping and observe, among other activities, his new surroundings when in awakened state.

THE FOURTH CRADLE  –  Though few might have considered the following or even realized it or even accepted the fact or not, another miraculous event had to occur.

Though Mary carried Christ within, delivered Him into the world, and cared for her God-given Son, she would have to prepare yet another cradle for Him herself.  This cradle would become one in which she would set her Son apart  –  as is required by all  –   as Lord.   Like all others, Mary, the one who delivered Jesus, would likewise have to be delivered by Him, as the song goes.  Therein lies the fourth cradle, the cradle within her very own heart, the cradle of her belief that Jesus, her son was truly the Son of God.

Listen closely about the fourth cradle  –  and this applies to every person who reaches the age of accountability  — it is unto each person (each of us) to decide whether or not he/she/  will permit his/her heart to become a cradle in which to receive Christ.  Nevertheless, the fourth cradle (the heart) represents the womb in which eternal life becomes conceived and Jesus becomes set apart as Lord (1 Peter 3:15).

THE FIFTH CRADLE  –  In our time and day  –  and that includes this Christmas  –  you as individuals live as potential bearers of the fifth cradle.  The fourth cradle theologically constitutes the spiritual site and the location for the mandatory imperative that Jesus spoke about to Nicodemus: “You must be born again” (John 3:3).

Those who have therefore become born again (have come to believe) become bearers  of Christ as the fifth cradle, the heart in which Christ resides.

Christ required that his very own mother would have to become born again in order to enter into the kingdom of God (no favourites) and if that is so, and it is, then, why would it not be so for you or me?   Mary became born again.  Do not let this Christmas pass without cradling Jesus in your heart.  Let Jesus enter in.  Will you prepare your heart to become a womb in which to receive and cradle Christ as He becomes born in you today?   Will you become another Fifth Cradle?

The Cadillac Religion

THE CADILLAC  RELIGION

The Cadillac religion

Exchanges grace for grease

Increasing in great numbers

…No wonder it’s obese

The cross gives way to comfort

God’s Word gives rise to scorn

Christ’s blood is never mentioned

You need not be reborn

You may withhold your offering

Some never give a cent

Your works build your salvation

No one need repent

Gone the word: forgiveness

Revenge, sweetly embraced

Covenants lay broken

True Church stands long replaced

The person in the pulpit

So as to not offend

Quotes from Readers’ Digest

(The truth they won’t defend)

The lengthy benedictions

Liturgy  –  lots to spare

Every hymn’s a lullaby

And no one says a prayer

The great Old-Time Religion

Still won’t spare the facts

That Jesus came to die for us

Just read the Book of Acts

The preaching of the cross

And the power in His blood

Will cleanse far past the white of snow

The sinner from his mud

Within the one who does believe

The Spirit of perfection

Will call the soul of that heart in

The first resurrection

Candy Gods

Candy gods will tell you lies

From you the truth they`ll circumcise

Sugar gods will offer pleasure

You determine in what measure

Candy gods will follow you

Into all you want to do

They will permit your desires

Grant you all your heart requires

Candy gods will twist each verse

Freeing you from any curse

From these gods on their sweet breath

You wont`smell the second death

How Thick the Blood of Jesus

August 19th, 2011 by

How Thick the Blood of Jesus

The blood of family oft runs thick

So as to clog one’s veins

Choosing family rather than

The Name above all names

The blood of Christ oft runs so thin

When bloodlines call to choose

The Saviour or the relative

So often Christ will lose

How thick’s the blood of Jesus

When push does come to shove?

Who will truly die for Him

To match his matchless love?

The sod of Egypt summons all

To return to its soil

The glitter and the glamour

Blind some to Satan’s foil

The blood of Christ sufficient

Full of life and power

One only needs to plead the blood

Against temptation’s hour

The blood of Christ did spill for me

It paid the purchase price

Blood flowed with such consistency

To wash away my vice

How thick my Saviour’s blood did pour

Across the centuries told

From thorny crown and flesh so torn

To redeem my lost soul

Christ Lives

CHRIST LIVES

CHRIST IS RISEN; HE LIVES ON HIGH

I AM RISEN, NEVER TO DIE

FOR SURE HE LIVES

YES, HE FORGIVES

OH, YES, INDEED MY SAVIOUR LIVES

HE CAME TO DIE

SO I COULD LIVE

HE SHED HIS BLOOD

NEW LIFE TO GIVE

NOW DEEP INSIDE

WITHIN MY HEART

HE LIVES.  HE LIVES.

MY JESUS LIVES.

HIS BLOOD HAS WASHED

AWAY MY SINS

HIS WORD HAS SHOWN

NEW LIVE BEGINS

HIS SPIRIT NOW

WITHIN RESIDES

AND DEEP IN ME

MY CHRIST ABIDES

CHRIST LIVES; CHRIST LIVES

MY SAVIOUR LIVES

I AM REDEEMED

                                                                                                                                                                                                                         I’M SO ALIVE

                                                                                                                                                                                                                    I’M BORN AGAIN

Choosing Jesus

I choose You over my comfy bed

By coming to church, being Spirit led

I choose You over the hockey game

On Wednesday nights for Jesus name

I choose You over alcohol

And by Your Spirit will not fall

I choose You over isolation

To be a part of Your congregation

I choose you over practicing sin

Through my deliverer I choose to win

I choose eternal life through You

As Lord and Saviour I choose You

Beyond the Veil

Beyond the veil…

Quotes

August 2nd, 2011 by
"The neglected heart will soon be a heart overrun with worldly
thoughts; the neglected life will soon become a moral chaos; the
church that is not jealously protected by mighty intercession and
sacrificial labors will before long become the abode of every evil
bird and the hiding place for unsuspected corruption. The creeping
wilderness will soon take over that church that trusts in its own
strength and forgets to watch and pray." - A. W. Tozer

"The old cross slew men; the new cross entertains them. The old cross
condemned; the new cross amuses. The old cross destroyed confidence in
the flesh; the new cross encourages it." -A.W. Tozer

"Revival is when God gets so sick and tired of being misrepresented
that He shows Himself." -Leonard Ravenhill

"Conversion is not a repairing of the old building; but it takes all
down, and erects a new structure. It is not the sewing on a patch of
holiness; but with the true convert, holiness is woven into all his
powers, principles and practice. The sincere Christian is quite a new
fabric, from the foundation to the top-stone. He is a new man, a new
creature; all things are become new (2 Cor 5:17)."
-Joseph Alleine

“One hundred religious persons knit into a unity by careful organization do not constitute a church any more than eleven dead men make a football team.” – A.W. Tozer

“We live in a day of itching ears but I have no commission from God to scratch them.” – Leonard Ravenhill

“A true love of God must begin with a delight in his holiness.” -Jonathan Edwards

“Religion today is not transforming people; rather it is being transformed by the people. It is not raising the moral level of society; it is descending to society’s own level, and congratulating itself
that it has scored a victory because society is smilingly accepting its surrender.” – A. W. Tozer

“They gave our Master a crown of thorns. Why do we hope for a crown of roses?” – Martin Luther

“Can we follow the Savior far, who have no wound or scar?” -Amy Carmichael

“God, who foresaw your tribulation, has specially armed you to go through it, not without pain but without stain.” – C.S. Lewis

“Enough has been written, much has been read, what has been done?” – Unknown

“His poverty was so great that He was born in another man’s house, and buried in another man’s tomb.” – John Boys

“Either sin is with you, lying on your shoulders, or it is lying on Christ, the Lamb of God.” – Martin Luther

“Moses spent forty years in the king’s palace thinking that he was somebody; then he lived forty years in the wilderness finding out that without God he was a nobody; finally he spent forty more years discovering how a nobody with God can be a somebody.”~Dwight L. Moody.

“We have a tendency to think of God being glorified only in the manifestation of His mercy — He is just as glorified by His justice.” -R.C. Sproul

“Too many preachers are more concerned about filling the church building than they are about filling the pulpit.” -Steven J. Lawson

“A Christian is someone who shares the sufferings of God in the world.” – Dietrich Bonhoeffer

“When Christ calls  a man, he bids him come and die.” -Dietrich Bonhoeffer

“No pain, no palm; no thorns, no throne; no gall, no glory; no cross, no crown.” – William Penn
“If your faith does not make you pray, have nothing to do with it: get rid of it, and God help thee to begin again.” ~ Charles Spurgeon

“Some want to live within the sound of church or chapel bell; I want to run a rescue shop within a yard of hell.”  – C. T. Studd

“The popular gospel of this day, is the laughing-stock of Hell; it dare neither damn the sinner, nor sanctify the saint.” – Catherine Booth

“If you are under the dominion of sin, you are yet an utter stranger to the salvation of God.” – Catherine Booth

“To bear the cross means that you refrain from doing what you have the power to do. You are qualified to fulfill your desire, yet you refrain from doing so. A person like this is the strongest person. The strongest person is not the one who is able to do something, but the one who is able not to do what he has the power to do.”
~ Watchman Nee
